Audio-book or textbook?

Definitely audio-book. Textbooks are notorious for being exceptionally boring, even when they’re about a fascinating subject! I don’t know what it is textbook writers are doing so wrong, but I want nothing to do with it. Plus, audiobooks are fantastic and a great way to get some reading done when you have to do something else!

Paperback or hardback?

I’m definitely a hardback girl. Like…paperbacks are nice and all…and they’re definitely easier to hold, but they don’t look as nice on my shelf and they’re much easier to crease and bend which I hate. I’m a clumsy person. I carry my books in my purse. I can’t be having a bunch of paper backs that I accidentally bend somehow.

Fiction or Non-Fiction?

I like both. But hands down, I will always choose fiction over non-fiction. It’s more interesting. Sorry.

Harry Potter or Twilight?

Can you believe there was a time when I would have picked Twilight? I frankly don’t know why these two books are compared. They’re 100% not even similar. Aside from that, Twilight was really meant for a much more selective audience whereas Harry Potter is the sort of book anyone could love. I choose Harry Potter now, not because it’s my favorite book or anything like that, but because it doesn’t promote toxic relationships. So, there’s that.

Bookshop or online?

Hahaha! This is a joke, yeah? Bookshop. Always. Honestly, I do tend to buy online for practical reasons (I’m broke and it’s cheaper) but emotionally I full believe bookshops are the place to be. I walk to Barnes and Noble all the time.

Standalone or trilogy?

Trilogy, but only because I like spending a lot of time with really good characters. I enjoy standalones, for sure, but you’ll rarely ever hear me proclaim one as my favorite book.

Sweet and short or heavy and long?

Weirdly enough, I genuinely don’t have a preference here? I’ve loved both on numerous occasions for different and sometimes similar reasons. As long as a book is as long as it needs to be, I like it, plain and simple.

Cozy read or reading in the sun?

I one hundred percent would love to read in the sun, but frankly it just isn’t feasible. The sun is far too bright and when you pair that with the white page of a book or the screen of your iPad, it really hurts your eyes. I mean, I can read in the shade outside, but I can’t read in the sun. It’s just not possible.

Hot chocolate or coffee?

Ugh. I hate coffee. I hate how it tastes, I hate how it smells, I hate how it looks. Coffee is disgusting. Props to all of you who are capable of drinking it and uber probs to all of you who actually enjoy it. I take my hat off to you. You are all better adults than me.

And this has been book tag Monday! I hope you’re all enjoying your day off if you’ve got Labor Day and just enjoying your day if you haven’t. Happy reading, all!
