This is a book I’m sure all of you have probably seen at this point since it’s been pretty popular around the bookish community following the release of the ARCs. I don’t know if it exactly needs my promotion since it’s already gotten quite a bit of attention. Even so, how could I not adore that cover?
I really can’t put my finger on what it is that makes this cover so amazing. Initially, I couldn’t understand why a book referencing Frankenstein in its title would be pink, since that seemed somewhat counterintuitive to what we all know of Frankenstein (who I believe has technically been depicted as green-ish or grey) but then it occurred to me that the pink, which is light and pale, was representing flesh.
And frankly that’s just perfect.
There’s the typical stitches, emulated not only by the presence of a needle and the tear in flesh, but in the very font that spells out her name, Frankenstein. And it’s just so eye catching, so disturbingly enticing that you can’t help really feeling drawn to the cover.
And for one that is so simple, I find this exceedingly amazing.
What do you think of the cover? Love? Hate? Ambivalent? Let me know in the comments!
It is a gorgeous cover! I’ve seen it floating around a lot the past week and I can’t wait to read it.
