Top 3 non-series books — go.

This was genuinely tough since I rarely read non-series books, but in the end I guess I have to go with All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill, The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang, and This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen.

NetGalley, Edelweiss or other?

I mean, I’ll always prefer physical ARCs, but since those are a lot harder for me to get a hold of, I’m not sure I could really choose between NetGalley and Edelweiss. They both have good and bad features to them and so there are things I like now about one than the other and vice versa. Edelweiss gets me access to books I really want to read, but NetGalley is better as far as the site set up. So, it’s difficult to choose.

I think this one goes without saying. As for why, well, they’re just wonderful and amazing creatures and I love them.

Book that you thought you were going to love and was super let down?

Sherwood by Meagan Spooner. Now, don’t get me wrong, it was still a fantastic book. But I will forever feel as though it was completely destroyed by an ending that, in my book, is horribly disrespectful to Robin Hood.

Book that you thought you’d dislike and ended up loving?

I’ve mentioned Cinder by Marissa Meyer in this context loads of times before. It looked so juvenile to me at first glance that I honestly thought it would be yet another in a long line of silly books that I wasted time on…but then it was this beautifully intricate and developed Cinderella retelling and it stole my heart for the rest of forever.

What genres do you enjoy the most?

Retellings, fantasy, futuristic, dystopian.

Where do you get your reads from (ie. book shops, online, library, etc)?

Everywhere, tbh. I prefer Barnes and Noble because I don’t want it to go out of business and I get a lot out of having a membership with them so I typically buy from them first, but I’ll buy from anywhere as needed. I’ve gotten a lot from NetGalley and Edelweiss lately. Also, Goodreads giveaways are wonderful.

Book blogs you love following?

I follow a lot of blogs and admittedly many of them can occasionally meld together after a while. But some that come to mind are The Past Due Review, Paper Royalty, This Is My Truth Now, Booknerdtan, and Perfectly Tolerable as some of my favorites.

Place you’d love to travel to, either in a book or in real life?

Neverland.

Biggest blogging/blogger/book reviewer pet peeve?

When I see high ratings for books I know are promoting abusive behaviors as romantic. It physically hurts and makes me deeply nauseous to see books like that be praised.

Favorite book review you’ve written, and link please!

It’s genuinely a toss up for me between Sherwood, Happily, and The Wendy. I couldn’t say which is my best, but I do look back on those three feeling like I did a good job expressing my views and promoting the good in each one.
