In the past, I’ve made no secret of my distaste for removing books from my TBR. I add them with nothing whatsoever holding me back and I make my way through a piteously small amount throughout the year. It always feels never ending and frankly since new books keep being published and I’ve made it my basic duty to read all the ones I find interesting, it’s even prompted me to have a regular blog post series about adding new books.

I mean, frankly, it’s a bit ridiculous.

And for the first time in my life, the first time on this blog, I’m actually considering removing some of them.

In a way, this still makes me cringe and breaks my heart just a bit. I have a hard time with the idea of that number going down because I never got to read the book. But I also know for a fact that there are many books on that list that I likely won’t enjoy, many that I added for stupid reasons or for a book challenge I never completed that frankly I didn’t want to read all that much in the first place, but I needed something to fit a specific category.

At the end of the day, I think the truth of the matter is that I’m only going to live for so long. I have a ticking clock bringing me down to my last moment. And do I really want to waste time with a crappy book I won’t enjoy but read because it was on my TBR when I could have been reading something better? It’s truly a dilemma and I can’t quite make up my mind but I think I’m actually leaning toward doing it.

It’ll be a rare first for me, so we’ll see.

I hope you’re all having a lovely Saturday! Unfortunately I have to know stop my dog from getting into the chip bag he found today, so mine’s off to a non-writing start. But that’s not all too new lately.
