I was talking about this novella in another post recently and so I can’t help but feel that it’s time to start talking about Before the Snow again. Ironically enough, I hated the first book in this series, Stealing Snow and consequently have not read and do not plan to read its sequel, but this novella as a standalone was pretty fantastic. I think, ultimately, the thing is that this one had better characters and a more intriguing story. Whereas Snow was not a character I could bring myself to even consider liking, I really loved the main characters of this one. The story captured my attention immediately and actually made me care about the people involved. Stealing Snow never actually accomplished that at all. So, honestly, my suggestion would be to read this one and then move on.
An exciting and twist filled retelling of The Little Mermaid, this is definitely a novella to have on your TBR. You can read my review for Before the Snow to see if it’s for you and, if it is, I would definitely suggest adding it to your Goodreads!
