The Art of Losing by Lizzy Mason is kind of an “eh, why not?” sort of addition to my TBR. I’m not really super invested in the whole thing, but it’s definitely garnered some of my interest. It’s kind of all about betrayal and learning one’s ability to accept and work through the difficulties of life, many of which are likely to come from the people around you. It’s about determining what one thinks is worth doing and putting up with and fighting for the things that they want. And I think those are all important lessons to learn in life which could potentially make this book very worthwhile. It’s a lot to unpack from one story and, unexpectedly, I’m looking forward to it all.
Add in the fact that there’s a commentary on drunk driving, a resulting medical situation, as well as a discussion on addiction and I can’t help being thoroughly curious to see where this book goes. I think there’s a lot to get out of this book and I hope that the writing handles the subject matter well enough for this to be a fantastic novel.
What do you think of this book? Is it one you’d be interested in adding to your TBR? Have you read it already? If so, what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
