echo northIt’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling! Echo North by Joanna Ruth Meyer is definitely going onto my TBR. I love retellings and I definitely really appreciate Beauty and the Beast retellings. And that just ties into the fact that I’ve always really wanted, but haven’t quite yet found one that is so utterly amazing that I fall deeply in love with it. I’ve come close, of course, on numerous occasions…but something always seems to ruin these otherwise potentially amazing books. And I just really need one that is perfectly phenomenal and captures my heart so much so that I know I’ll never find one better–potentially, at least. And I genuinely think that this one might be it!

Okay, perhaps that is a little bit over-enthusiastic and hopeful and will result in my own disappointment later on. And maybe I misinterpreted the synopsis as a Beauty and the Beast retelling. But this book really does sound amazing and I’m hoping that I’m right about it. There’s a lot to this book that has me thoroughly interested and I can’t wait to read about this magical library of books and mirrors and the characters who I’m sure are just bound to be utterly amazing.

What are your thoughts on this book? Have you read it? If so, what did you think? It is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, yes? If not, do you think you might be adding it to your TBR? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve read it. It’s beautiful! It’s actually a re-imagining of East of the Sun West of the Moon (a fairy tale that’s got some similarities to Beauty and the Beast. I think it’s Norwegian). Anyway, I hope you love it as much as I did.
