Alright, I’m gonna need some of your input on this one. You see, I’m very tempted to shy away from this one and just say, nah, I’m not interested. The Lonely Dead by April Henry, you see, is about a girl who sees ghosts and one day finds the ghost of her best friend, Tori. What follows is a story in which Adele becomes the main suspect in her best friend’s murder and must use her skills of ghost seeing to work with her now deceased best friend in order to find the person who actually did kill her. Not only is this a devastating time in her life, but she’s also left fighting to keep herself out of prison. But that’s not the worst of it all. The real killer, it seems, is also after her.
I honestly…don’t love these kind of stories. I don’t read about ghosts often and I definitely tend to steer clear of any murder mystery type novels. They’ve just never been the kind that I like and I always find myself bored enough to consider scanning through which is something I genuinely hate doing. So, I don’t know. I really don’t feel like I’d enjoy this story due to it’s plot, but there’s something nagging at the back of my mind that says…maybe?
So, my big question for all of you is…what do you think? Is this something I should add to my TBR or is it not worth spending time on? If you’ve read it, definitely please chime in! And then, if you’ve not read it, do you think you’ll be adding it to yours? Why or why not?
I like both Ghosts and murder mystery so this is my kinda read
