I have had a really good day. And in its own right this is actually fairly shocking because I had a pretty awful week just last week to the point that I–someone who does not go out drinking often–went out drinking with my co-workers. But today? Today was pretty fantastic. And unassumingly so. Work is looking up for a number of reasons I won’t go into detail on here, though one is potential promotion process moving forward. I finished reading a book so that I can start the arc for its sequel that I recently got approved for (hello, King of Fools, here I come) and I got something amazing in the mail.
I didn’t really write a post about it when I changed all the images, but I’m sure some of you have noticed that there’s a new blog logo, one that is colored and designed all by yours truly. Whereas prior I had only been using these black and white drawings that I’d done, I know they weren’t exactly what one looks for in a logo. For one, they were far too complicated. For two, they looked unfinished. I’ve always been fairly inept when it comes to coloring my artwork. But I’d also never tried using photoshop before.
And well, considering that I recently got a new laptop with a pen (my skies, you guys, get one and it will change your life) I thought I’d give it a try. And it turned out amazingly. I mean, you’ve all seen it. And sure, there’s definitely room for improvement. I don’t know if I like the colors I chose. I feel like his glasses look a little weird. It’s not perfect. But I really like it. But, now here’s the even better news. It was a bit of a whim, but I didn’t want to have to re-draw the entire logo whenever I wanted to make use of it outside an online setting. And just randomly the idea of a stamp occurred to me. I didn’t know how it would turn out and if I’m being honest, I wasn’t really expecting all that much. Something nice but not great would just be really cool to have. But it turned out even better.
Now, ignore the fact that my hair looks awful and just recognize the absolute beauty this amazing stamp. And the truth is that the primary reason I wanted this stamp was for the Passalong Pages Project that I admittedly haven’t advertised as much as I want to because, financially, I’m not quite able to support it yet. Don’t worry, I am looking to have that fact change in the future, I’m just not entirely sure when in the future. But, here’s the thing, I really want to get this going with at least one book. So, if you’re curious about traveling books that move from person to person, take a chance to check it out.
I absolutely love your new logo! The colors are perfect ❤ And the stamp is awesome too! I am a little jealous ❤
