a danger to herself and othersI have actually read A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa Sheinmel and I just loved it. This book leaves you questioning everything you know throughout the entire novel. It comes as no surprise that the main character is an incredibly unreliable narrator and this becomes more and more apparent with the more time that you spend with her. The novel, at times, is pretty dark. But it sucks you in so wholly that you cannot help feeling as though you’re taking this journey with the main character. You know as much as she knows and she leads you on this path of self-discovery and the building of her own awareness where she was left completely unaware prior to the experience. Nearly the entire novel is spent in the same place and in memories, which was rather fascinating and a fun new experience for me.

I would definitely suggest this book to others, especially those interested in mental illness. I was incredibly blown away by this book and if you’re interested you can even check out my review. At the very least, though, you should give it some thought and take a look at the book on Goodreads because this really isn’t one that you want to pass up.

So, based on all that information, what do you think about this book? Is it on your TBR? Is it a book you’re going to pass up despite my suggestion (no worries, I understand!)? Let me know in the comments! And, as always, happy reading!
