This has been somewhat of a hot topic recently and I’m sure you all know why. But, just in case you don’t, just google abortion law and I’m sure a few things will pop up to clarify some of the information for you. I don’t often like to spend time deviating from book talk on my blog, but the truth is that there are some subjects that need to be discussed and abortion is one of them. Where racism is often a topic I can bring up through the books I read, there’s actually very little by way of young adult novels that I’ve found relating to the topic of abortion. I wonder why that is?

Regardless, lately I’ve been feeling pretty down and hopeless. The war on women, because that’s more or less what this is, really hit hard home for me recently. It’s one of those things where I can’t help recognizing that subjects like this one make me very upset, to the point that I find myself wondering if the world is even worth saving because it does truly seem to be going to hell. I won’t even get started on all the other issues I have with the old, white, racist and sexist and homophobic men that we have in power right now. Frankly, I’d probably throw a month-long party if they all got Thanos snapped away right now. Maybe a year-long party? Fuck it, we all need a break from the fascism and inhumane depravity.

Anyway, every once in a while I come across someone who gives me hope for the world and I wanted to share with all of you an article written by a woman who genuinely gives me hope for the world. Unfortunately, I don’t think that the trash running the American government is going  to listen to her, but damn, if they did we’d all live in a better world. Anyway, I highly recommend you all read Gabrielle Blair’s Men Cause 100% of Unwanted Pregnancies because it is pure gold.

Happy Saturday and happy reading!

  1. I’ve seen this too. It’s a hard thing being done – taking our rights from us. One of my fav actresses Milla Jovovich who’s such an inspiration talked about it on Instagram. It was heartbreaking
