It’s Thursday again, which means it’s time for another throwback to a review I wrote sometime last year. Admittedly, I was excited to read this series, beginning with The Testing which had genuinely sounded like a fantastic dystopian. Unfortunately, not all book series ever really live up to expectations. While there are many fantastic books in this genre, there are also many disappointments. As for Graduation Day by Joelle Charbonneau,it exists as a pretty big disappointment. Which, honestly, is a real shame because I actually did deeply enjoy the first novel of this series. It just seems to me that Charbonneau had a great start, but didn’t really know how to further her series from there. And besides, the whole series felt very much like a rip off of The Hunger Games once you got to book two and three. It’s really quite a shame.
For more of my thoughts on this book, feel free to check out my review, though realize that there are probably spoilers to the other two books in the series (not many though, I promise). And there’s always the Goodreads page to check out if you’re interested in reading the series. As always, I wish you all a happy reading!
