Honestly, had I not requested these both together, I probably wouldn’t have included them in the same post because the topics are so different. One, dark and uncomfortable while the other is bright and happy. But still, after reading a book about gun violence in schools, we’re all gonna need a happy book to read.

#notreadytodie
An incredibly foreboding title about gun violence in schools.

the bravest knight who ever lived
An LBGTQ fantasy story! It looks SO cute!

Do either of these NetGalley books tempt you to request? Let me know in the comments!

  1. The Bravest Knight looks adorable. Just the title of the other one makes me want to cry 😦 Its such a sad scary reality right now and I hate that my brother (6th grade) is afraid to go to school. I don’t think I would be able to handle reading that book

    1. It really is! You should definitely read it if you get a chance. I loved it so much!

And yeah, I completely agree with you there. I keep hoping that the more it gets talked about, the more likely it is that people in government will actually start taking measurable action to properly address the situation. I think it does, somewhat unfortunately, depend on what state you live in. And I feel you there. My brother is 16 and in High School. It can be terrifying.
