You know, when you read a bunch of ARCs, you sometimes forget about them and find yourself in this weird position of being shocked when you realize they only came out a fairly short time ago. That’s kind of how I feel about King of Fools by Amanda Foody. What’s funny to me about this series is that it got a lot of traction when it first came out. I literally saw Ace of Shades everywhere. And so, when it came down to a chance where I could get an ARC of its sequel, I went ahead read both in a rather short period of time.

I liked the first one well enough. And I liked the second one, up until the end. See, my problem with this series is that I liked a side character infinitely more than I liked the main characters. Thus resulted my complete loss of interest in reading anything more in the series when that very side character prooved to be disposable. And even then, it wasn’t that enticing for me. So, I can’t really say this book wasn’t on my TBR, because it was. But I can definitely say it was somewhat of a disappointment for me.
