Run, Hide, Fight Back [April Henry]; 2020 YA Releases

I think Run, Hide, Fight Back by April Henry had an initial 2020 date, but it ended up being released in August of 2019, so I missed it. Now, on the one hand, a part of me thinks this book looks scary as hell and wants nothing to do with it. But, on the other, this book is about a shooting…and with the climate of the United States right now, I can’t help feeling as though this is something I should read. In its own way, it feels important.

Six teens must band together to survive after a shooting breaks out.

When a deadly shooting breaks out in a Portland shopping mall, a diverse group of teens ends up trapped behind a store’s security shutter. To her own surprise, seventeen-year-old Miranda finds the others looking to her as their leader. But she’s hiding a big secret—and she’s not the only one. The group has only three choices—run, hide, or fight back. The wrong decision will have fatal consequences.
