Let’s be completely honest here, I really only requested Color by Number Animal Friends by Dover Publications for one reason. There’s a fox on the cover. And I’ll admit that there’s something truly interesting about requesting a digital version of a coloring book. Half of me genuinely wondered whether I could print it out just to actually get a chance at using it.
I genuinely loved paint by numbers as a kid. Even now, as an adult, I still find these sort of coloring books immensely satisfying. I imagine that it has something to do with my obsessive need for everything to be basically perfect with accurate patterns and symmetry. I actually hate adult coloring books because I find them so difficult to adequately keep a pattern with.
This is a simple coloring book that uses small circle splotches at the top and bottom of the pages to indicate which color matches which number. And, honestly, I found it was a lot of fun. The artwork is very cute and not over the top at all. It’s definitely something worthwhile to get a young kid. And…there’s a fox on the cover. So I extra love it.
I was provided a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
