Who can say anything but amazing things about a blog that first began with a review for The Phantom of the Opera? For Amanda @ Rainy Days with Amanda, this is precisely how her blog started and I can’t help but find that absolutely beautiful. As a pretty big fan of The Phantom of the Opera myself, I found this simple fact really exciting. And, as someone who also believes in being a WIP, I’d definitely say my first experience with this blog was a fantastic one.
Today’s review is for the book The Heist by Janet Evanovich, who I’ve quickly learned is one of Amanda’s favorite authors, and Lee Goldberg. It didn’t take long to see the multiple books she’s reviewed by this author. This particular book is somewhat similar to the Stephanie Plum series from what I can tell reading Amanda’s review and features a pair of characters who, despite a clear animosity or at least adversary roles between each other, have to work together in order to resolve a situation involving a corrupt banker. While I’ve not read this book nor the Stephanie Plum series, it definitely sounds interesting!
Plus, the comparison to Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in Zootopia was really quite brilliant and definitely attention grabbing.
“…the story had a female lead who wasn’t afraid, for lack of better words, kick ass. It’s nice to see the female lead, in any type of story, not needing a hero for a change…”
So take a few moments to drop by Amanda’s blog to give her a bit of your support if you have a chance and definitely check out her reviews, cause they’re pretty awesome!
