I am a huge fan of Steampunk. And so, naturally, many Steampunk covers usually end up in my Goodreads shelf of cover gems. There’s just something about it that I can’t help staring at and wanting for myself. And it has definitely been a motivator in choosing some of my reads in the past.
Today, the cover I’m featuring is from the book Tainted by Morgan L. Busse. And as you can see, it’s very Steampunk-esque. From the outfit to the airship (blimp) in the background, this book screams itself into the category. And I find it utterly gorgeous. I love the girl on the cover, adore the corner that is burning, and everything about that exquisite background. The text is perfectly placed and themed so that it will literally pop from the page. I hope that they had the cover pressed so that it actually does because it just seems like the perfect opportunity and I really love those books that have the letters of their titles raised a little bit.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m actually really curious to know what the process is behind that.
I’ve not read this book so I can’t really vouch to whether it’s well written, but I can definitely say that I am in love with it’s cover. So, now it’s your turn. What do you think of this cover? Love it? Hate it? Is Steampunk something you like? Let me know in the comments!
