And it’s book tag Monday! Gonna post the rough draft now and come back to edit later. The perils of being an adult with a job with a short lunch break and a puppy.
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Counting rereads, this is hands down Marissa Meyer. I reread all of her books at least twice a year and she’s already got a bunch of them.
Best Sequel Ever:
Cress, Cress, Cress, Cress. In all seriousness, I am in love with every aspect of this book. And technically it’s the third in a series so idk if it counts as a sequel (though idk what we call the third book?) but it’s the best so there you go.
I’m currently reading a bunch of different books, so…
Sadie by Courtney Summers
Toxic by Lydia Kang
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
The Curse of the Skyfolk by Jamie Rowe
Love Like Sky by Leslie C. Youngblood
The Revolution of Jack Frost by K. M. Robinson
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Water! …because if I drank anything else the potential for spilling and stainage would be insane. Tbh, I avoid drinking anything while reading for this precise reason.
E–reader or Physical Book?
Physical book. Hands down.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
The Peter Pan type. Lbh.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Cinder. Honestly, I was very close to not reading this book. It genuinely looked so juvenile to me. And now it’s the start of my all time favorite book series!
Hidden Gem Book:
I keep saying The Wendy by Erin Michelle Sky and Steven Brown for this because it’s not super well known…but also Windrunner’s Daughter by Bryony Pearce which I only recently learned not many people have read.
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Oh gosh. When I got my very first physical ARC! 😍😍 Shout out to Erin and Steven for that. The Wendy was the first one I ever got.
Wicked Nix by Lena Coakley
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Anything religious. Horror. Romance. I can be persuaded on the last two, but I cannot stand books that push religion.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Major book hangover because of:
I once read the entire Gone series in less than a week when the final book came out (though it’s not really the final book anymore, I guess) and I just felt so exhausted when I finally finished that I literally couldn’t do anything. It’s a weird feeling I hope never happens again, tbh.
Number of bookcases:
Uh…four that don’t fit all my books. I need more, tbh.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Lunar Chronicles.
Preferred Place To Read:
The couch. It’s the best place to get comfy. My bed doesn’t have a headrest, so it doesn’t work, and everywhere else is super uncomfortable.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
You know, I have a bunch of books I could put on this list from 50 Shades of Grey to The Curious Crime and books that I just wish I hadn’t wasted my time on and at the end of it all, I can’t help feeling like some sort of benefit came out of reading them. So regret is hard to pin down here, though disappointment and disgust not so much? If I had to truly pick, though, I’d say the Shatter Me series because the first book was SO good and it still breaks my heart to have seen it fall apart and romanticize abuse.
Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
All the books in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series cause I’ve only read the first one. Other than that, I can’t think of one that I haven’t finished that I actually plan on continuing. And even A Court of Thorns and Roses is one I feel really meh about reading the rest of the series, so… Idk. I just usually finish series’ the moment I pick them up so long as the books are available.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
The Lunar Chronicles (all of them ❤️)
The Shadow of the Wind
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Carswell Thorne. I will fangirl forever.
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
At this point it’s Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff. But who knows, it could change. I’m also pretty excited about Ogre Enchanted.
Worst Bookish Habit:
Eating near my books. It needs to stop.
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Winter by Marissa Meyer
Your latest book purchase:
Uhm…I have no idea. It might have been a gift for a friend. The new Hocus Pocus novel.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Sherwood by Meagan Spooner. Which sucks so much because it was such an AMAZING book right up until that stupid ending.
