I have a secret bookish project in the works.

Now, I know some of you are probably thinking…well, what the heck are you bothering to write about it now for? And to that I would simply say, I’m just too excited not to bring it up. I’ve had this idea for a while now, but I wasn’t really considering it seriously until recently. Basically, I just realized that, after meeting many of you in the book blogging community, this project is really worth putting some effort into.

Now, what is the project?

img_7736Well, that’s where it gets a little tricky. You see, the project isn’t due to start until 2019. And there are a few reasons for this. The first is because starting a new one every year seems like a perfect way to go about working this project. Second, I need a bit of time to decide which book to feature—you’ll notice the photo has two books that I’m very seriously considering using though who knows if something might change there as I’ve been considering having others nominate and vote, so we’ll see. And third, my birthday is in January and it just feels like that makes it a really cool way to celebrate turning 26 (oh, dear skies, am I really going to be that old?).

But I’ve decided that I’m going to start dropping hints for this project, which is currently nameless but does have a working title, to curb my own excitement a little bit and perhaps to develop excitement with others in the process. You see, this project is going to involve a book. And it is also going to involve you, that is, so long as you’re a book blogger and you’re interested you may end up having a chance to participate and this project really wont survive without your participation.

So, to introduce the books we have The Wendy (released this year back in January) and Windrunner’s Daughter (released in February 2016). I haven’t yet decided which one I’m going to use, but there’s a strong likelihood that it will be one of these two. They’re both fairly underrated books that I loved, Windrunner’s Daughter a bit more underrated than The Wendy, I think. I think, currently, I’m leaning somewhat more toward The Wendy, largely due to the fact that we’ll be coming up on its one year publication anniversary around the time I want to start this project and also because it’s been a long time since I’ve read Windrunner’s Daughter.

I am, however, rereading it to see if I really do want to use it. And I guess…this is basically a post of me rambling my thoughts without actually telling anyone what I’m planning to do. I apologize for the secrecy, but it’s really something I want to surprise people with. And aside from that, it’s not entirely set up yet. But at some point, you can all expect an update here about this. Hopefully it’ll be something you’ll find interesting and fun!
