This is just about the only readathon I ever really participate in, likely due to a bunch of reasons, but I just find that 24in48 has a lot going for it that really keeps me engaged and on my toes, even if I end up utterly and painfully exhausted at the end of it all. And we’ve now got a date set in January and the sign-ups are all ready to go.
If you’re new to 24in48, the basic gist of it is that you’re meant to be reading for a full 24 hours and you have to keep track of that as you go in order to be a part of the blogging portion and the potential to win a prize. I’ve only participated twice, but I’ve been fortunate enough to have not only completed the challenge both times but also to have won a prize.
There’s a lot of wonderful and amazing things coming out of this readathon and it keeps getting bigger every year. What this ultimately will mean is that this opens up the opportunity for more participants to get involved and to even win bookish prizes. I’d definitely suggest, while you’re checking out their new logo which I’m excited to feature, that you check out their sign-ups and seriously consider joining.
It’s a truly fulfilling activity for your weekend and though it does require a lot of time and energy, it does feel worth it in the end. It’s basically a book lover’s best readathon. I’ve left a link above for you all. The readathon isn’t until late January, so you’ve got some time to decide if you want to participate, but I’d definitely say it’s one really worth looking into.
As always, happy reading everyone!
