I only just heard the devastating news about Stephanie who ran the Teacher of YA book blog and I’m kind of just…broken about it. I don’t know many people who’ve died, and even less who I’ve felt close to and this one just hit me pretty hard. I didn’t know Stephanie very well, but she was the first book blogger I ever talked to when I finally figured out how to manage the whole Twitter aspect of it all. For this reason alone, she’ll forever have an incredible impact on my experience with the book blogger community.

She was a wonderful person all around and I always loved reading her posts, hearing her opinions on what she’d been reading, and simply her enthusiasm in general for the books we all loved together. I met her primarily due to our shared love of The Wendy, which I’m sure you all recognize due to the fact that I’ve been hosting a readalong for it this month, but there’s something especially emotional about this book for me now after the news I just received.

I’m sure many of you knew Stephanie. I’m sure a lot of you probably knew her better than I did. And I’m sure many of you know about the fact that her review was quoted on the interior cover of this book. But for those of you who don’t know, I wanted to share this with you and express my deep sadness that such a wonderful, amazing person is no longer with us. I miss her so much already.

  1. My goodness, I’m so sorry for your loss and everyone else who knew Stephanie! This is new information to me and I’m so unbelievably saddened to hear that the world has lost such a beautiful soul. Thank you so much for posting this, as difficult as I’m sure it was to do. The blogging community has lost a wonderful human being, though I know that I will (along with so many others) always remember the enjoyment of getting to read every single one of her lovely posts and being able to be blessed by her welcoming us into a bit of her life. She truly was a passionate and kind person who will be dearly missed!

    1. I don’t think I’d have found out if it weren’t for someone writing a post about her. Or at least, I wouldn’t have found out for a while. Which is partially why I wanted to write something for her. She was such an amazing person and it’s just so heartbreaking.
