It’s been a while.
To tell you the truth, I’ve been hit pretty hard with depression the past month. And I’ve been busy with work. But the biggest thing of note is that I just haven’t really felt like writing lately. Anything.
In that vein, Reader Fox is undergoing a bit of a revamp. I’m changing up some stylistic stuff, but most importantly I’m shifting priorities. A while back I made the decision to work toward sending out regular messages of importance, but I never actually got around to it. And as I thought more about it, I realized that there needed to be a more permanent fixture on this website dedicated to important causes that the world, in general, needs to become a better place.
I kind of began several months ago when I undertook a project with the intention of exposing abuse romanticism, primarily in young adult literature. I still plan to continue this, though perhaps at a slower pace than I had hoped.
Additionally, you’re going to begin seeing some new pages on this website dedicated to diversity. I’m beginning with Black Lives Matter, specifically in relation to Black Book Bloggers. I hope to expand this, slowly, into something that exists as a way to educate not only others, but myself as well. And as I continue, I intend to include more minorities and important social commentaries.
This will probably be the main page for the time being, largely because this is a work in progress and I only have so much time to dedicate to it while also working full-time.
But, unsurprisingly, progress is often slow. Still, as long as there are those willing to work at it and fight for it, I feel confident that we will continue to make strides forward.
I wish you all the best.
