By far, I’ve noticed recently that one of the most time consuming–yet, hopefully worthwhile?–pieces about book review blogs is having to update the A-Z review page I have set up. I always infinitely prefer when a blog has one set up and yetI’ve noticed they can become incredibly tedious to update. This is a truth even more so on occasions when I’ve put it off for a while. And that, naturally, sometimes leads into putting it off even more and ultimately only makes the task even more of a pain.
I just recently updated mine and it took far longer than I wanted. You’d think by now that I would realize how much easier this task would be if I would just update it every time I post a review, right? I mean, it sounds like the perfect solution and yet I find that there’s simply far too much in life that can take over to prevent my ability to constantly be doing so. Review posts take long enough as it is, sometimes. But, as with everything in life, it’s a work in progress.
So, as much as I lament blogs that don’t have an A-Z listing of their reviews–only a little, you guys, I promise–I definitely understand why someone might not include one. The upkeep alone can be quite daunting, which isn’t something I realized prior to setting one up. I think I’m going to try to update it every time I post a review from now on in an attempt to keep it from becoming a giant organizational disaster, but I have a feeling that it won’t last for very long. It’s still worth trying though, I suppose.
