what we buriedI don’t think there’s really anything that could get me to put What We Buried by Kate A. Boorman onto my TBR. All of its themes are simply things that I cannot bring myself to be interested enough in to spend the amount of time required to read 304 pages worth of a story about awful parents, a child thrown into beauty pageants all her life,  siblings that don’t like each other, and emancipation. I could possibly persuaded to watch a movie about something like this–but there’d have to be something more to it, I think–than just emancipation, sibling banter, and missing awful parents. And honestly I just don’t care for dark, mystery type thriller-ish novels. And What We Buried definitely seems like a book that will fit the profile.

I really don’t see much more to this book than that and ultimately that leaves me with no interest in reading it. I imagine this book will be something those who enjoy mysteries might like this one. I know I’ve seen it around on Goodreads. I’ll be skipping this book, but what are your thoughts on it? Is it the kind of book you might want to read? Are you with me in deciding to pass? Let me know in the comments!
