white stagI don’t know for sure if I’m going to like White Stag by Kara Barbieri. In fact, I’m not even sure I fully understand what it’s about. I definitely don’t know what the purpose of the white stag in general is. And then there’s a weird thing about monsters and some sort of separation of worlds with a human character seemingly kidnapped (?) and forced to serve someone important’s nephew? I don’t really fully understand much about this book and the synopsis is really just confusing. You’d think that, for a first book, they’d explain a little bit more or at least give some sort of insight into what these strange pieces of the story mean. And perhaps it’s irrelevant because the job of a blurb is to get a reader interested enough to read it and this one definitely did that for me. But I dunno. I can’t tell if I should be excited about this one or not.

But, I suppose the goal was accomplished because this book has been added to my TBR. I might not get to it for some time, but I’ll definitely let you all know what I think once I do. I definitely want to know what all of this vague pieces end up being and resulting in. I’m especially curious about the monster bit that makes absolutely no sense without context.

So what do you think? Will you be adding this one to your TBR? Does it only interest you a little? Is it one you don’t care to read? Did you get more from the synopsis than I did? Let me know in the comments!
