the witcherUsually, when I post about stuff outside the book world it’s typically pretty book related regardless. The Little Mermaid was a book first before I reviewed it as a film. Gotham began as Batman comics. But this one? This one began as a video game. But I think it really does fit into my general theme of things because the truth about The Witcher is that it has an absolutely amazing–if not slightly creepy at times–story. And this blog is really all about the sharing of stories.

So, that’s my roundabout way of saying that I wanted to talk about this Netflix series that’s going to be coming out at some point in the future and looks freaking brilliant. I have to admit, I never in my life would have thought to Henry Cavill when considering actors to play this fun character, Geralt. And that’s not because I think he’ll be anything short of amazing, but he’s just not the first person I imagine when I think of this guy. Granted, I don’t think there’s really anyone I imagined, but you get the point. As it stands, I’ve loved Henry Cavill since my days of loving The Count of Monte Cristo. Betcha can’t guess off the top of your head who he played in THAT movie.

Or maybe you can.

My point is that once you get a look at the photo, you’ll see exactly why this amazing actor was cast in the role. And I know its set for an undetermined date in the future, but I am so excited to see where this series takes us. Now, I could do without all the excess of sex that was in the video game…but I don’t think I’ll be upset if it’s there in the show, either. I put up with Game of Thrones, after all. Keep an eye out, everyone, I think this show is going to be worth waiting for.
